We welcome all talented individuals who are eager to learn and develop in accounting area

About diversity policy, development opportunities for employees, value of ACCA Approved Employer status, active recruitment, innovative technological solutions and CSR activities - in the interview with Piotr Tatar, Executive Director, Head of IOC Operations, BNP Paribas Securities Services Poland.

In January this year, BNP Paribas Bank Polska was awarded the Top Employer Polska title for the ninth time and was awarded the Top Employer Europe 2022 certificate. Please tell us how this award reflects on other BNP Paribas entities in Poland, such as yourselves at Securities Services Poland, a business line of the Corporate and Investment Banking division of the BNP Paribas Group and what this certificate means in practice, especially for your current as well as potential employees?

Piotr Tatar, Executive Director, Head of IOC Operations, BNP Paribas Securities Services Poland: Indeed, early this year our sister organisation, BNP Paribas Bank Polska, was awarded with this prestigious award and not for the first time. Across all BNP Paribas Group’s entities in Poland, we share the vision of what this award represents, especially during these unprecedented times in which employers are faced with extraordinary challenges.

For Securities Services, a friendly working environment, which has always been part of our DNA, has become even more important over the last two years. Employees and Employers have had to adapt to a remote / hybrid mode, which whilst granting much appreciated flexibility, has also removed opportunities to interact and build long-lasting and effective personal relations in the workplace. This is why, more than ever, we are committed to investing in and fostering a great work culture, underpinned by policies of diversity and inclusion, development, well-being and people care.

The pillars of the BNP Paribas Group culture are Empowerment, Courage, Simplicity, Transparency and Cooperation...

The values are what we commonly refer to as the “The BNP Paribas Way”. The BNP Paribas Group (and Securities Services by extension) aims to foster these values as the foundation of our actions in order to allow us to achieve the goals that we set forth, as well as fulfil the commitments made to all our partners, colleagues, employees and of course Clients. Transparency for us is about delivering what was agreed upon. Courage is about questioning the status “quo” in order to pursue progress and innovation and put forward the best possible solution. Empowerment is about being able to deliver the best service by each one of us, no matter our position and level in the organisation. Simplicity is about avoiding complexity and instead dealing in a straightforward and good faith manner. Finally, Cooperation, which is about fostering a work-culture to seek to always arrive to Win-Win outcomes.

What is "diversity" for BNP Paribas Bank?  And more specifically, what are your diversity policies and practical implementations in Securities Services Poland?

In Securities Services we have 5 pillars of Diversity & Inclusion which we incorporate in our daily practices and promoted behaviours. These are International, LGBTQ+, Gender, Disability, and Professional. Gender diversity has been for many years on the watch and we have a global goal of achieving a balanced and equal representation of female employees, especially on managerial positions. Inclusion has always been a priority topic for BNP Paribas and this has been reinforced in the 2025 HR strategy. Our target is to effectively prevent, and ideally eliminate, any disrespectful situations amongst employees, ensuring non-discrimination and fully playing our role as a responsible employer. Across our organisation we have an active D&I community comprising of HR, Communication and representatives of our four local employee networks: Pride, Mixcity, All Abroad, and Parents & Carers. We organise events and educational sessions during key dates in a year such as 17th May – IDAHOT International Day Against Homophobia, Biphobia and Transphobia or during our internal Diversity Weeks in October.

What opportunities do your employees have for the development of their talents and competences?

Employees at Securities Services have a wide range of training and development opportunities, which have always been one of our most appreciated benefits. The local training offer comprises of hundreds of available sessions and on average, there are 10 different training sessions per week on both soft skills and functional knowledge. Additionally, our employees can count on the Company’s support when it comes to professional qualifications such as ACCA, project management or business analysis certifications, foreign languages subsidy, postgraduate studies subsidy and even mentoring or coaching. We have a talent programme for our current and future leaders, which also provides various developmental opportunities.

Finally, our employees can count on their managers and HR’s support when it comes to creating their individual personal development plans to be aligned with our career paths and our employee’s professional goals.

Quite recently, BNP Paribas joined the group of ACCA Approved Employers. I do not hide that we are very much looking forward to our cooperation. How do the requirements related to the status of the Accredited Employer fit into the plans for the development of financial competences of the Bank's employees? Please recall what benefits do you provide to employees interested in development together with their ACCA qualification?

Securities Services recognises the importance of encouraging the continued professional development of its employees. Studying a professional qualification is desirable to develop further knowledge and expertise for staff progression in their career at our company that is why we choose to collaborate with ACCA. As employer, we subsidise 75% of costs linked to Diploma in Accounting and Business.
