Motorways

The Łódź voivodeship is an intersection point of the most important national and European communication routes.

In the upcoming years Łódź will be surrounded by a net of motorways and express roads. The junction of A-1 and A-2 motorways in Stryków near Łódź will assure a fast connection with Warsaw, Toruń, Tri-city and Silesia.

A-1, A-2 as well as S8 and S14 express roads will create a ring around the city

Rail

Łódź is also an important rail communication centre. It has frequent and fast connections with Warsaw (the time of the railway crossing is 105 min; after the completion of the investment – the time of a journey from the new underground Łódź Fabryczna station to Warszawa Wschodnia is expected to amount to 70 min) and other city centers in the country. The burden of the rail service for the time of reconstruction of Łódź Fabryczna Station was taken over by other stations: Łódź Kaliska, Łódź Widzew and Łódź Chojny. The Łódź Kaliska station services international trains that are in transit from Warsaw through Łódź, to Wrocław and then to the Czech Republic and Germany. The agglomeration rail on the other hand connects 11 main cities of the region and covers the area of 5 districts.

A fast connection with Wrocław and Poznań is also planned.
