Real estate’s first truly international graduate programme

Leading global real estate services and investment management company, Colliers International, in partnership with RICS have launched real estates’ first truly international graduate programme.

This market differentiating programme will provide the next generation with the opportunity to gain an internationally recognised qualification whilst they travel, explore and experience what it is like to live and work in a different country. Over two years successful candidates will have the opportunity to work in three of the six participating markets - Denmark, France, Germany, Spain, Poland and UK. The virtual application process opens on 01 February 2021.

“We see the development of emerging talent as one of the key drivers to our success and pivotal in ensuring that we stay at the forefront of the real estate industry. Our new international graduate programme will allow us to recruit new and dynamic talent from across the region who are excited as we are about building that future together,” said Chris McLernon, Colliers’ EMEA CEO. “The impact of COVID-19 pandemic is still very much apparent and will mean that the application process will be entirely virtual. We will be monitoring the situation to ensure successful candidates can connect with each other in person prior to their first international rotation. And we are hopeful that graduates will have the opportunity to explore and experience what it is like to work and live abroad, by the time the first international rotation is due to take place in September 2022.”

“We are very happy about this initiative and the fact that Colliers in Poland is participating in its first edition as one of the 6 EMEA countries. This programme gives young talents a unique chance to get to know the real estate market, look at it from different perspectives and to develop and learn in an international environment from both Colliers and RICS experts,” said Agata Błaszkiewicz, People Services Director at Colliers International in Poland.

“For the initial pilot cohort, all graduates will undertake the Commercial Property Pathway of RICS. A key component of this programme’s appeal will be the opportunity to train their graduates virtually. This training will provide a truly international, distance learning experience and ensure the candidates build a strong and supportive network,” said Iwan van Bilsen, RICS European Commercial Director. “We are committed to developing this partnership with Colliers in support of our global vision to create confidence in markets and be known for effecting positive change. This innovative programme is the first of its kind and will help to promote and raise awareness of the Surveying Profession to new audiences in our emerging European markets.”

Prior to the application process opening, students across the region can now register their interest in Colliers International’s future programmes and stay updated with the newly launched Colliers Early Careers Website. This platform will be the hub for the next generation across the region, providing them tips for the application process, ways to stay updated with property news and updates on work experience opportunities.
